About ACE
It is the mission of the Tribal Education Department to improve education for the Gila River Indian Community with the vision to create and support an environment that nurtures lifelong learning and promote personal responsibility in every Community member, setting the standard for Native American Education.
With support and funding from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Secondary Elementary Education, we are able to provide educational opportunities that support Gila River Indian Community Students K-12 with direct services and ongoing assessment needed to achieve that mission.
In October 2020, the Gila River Indian Community received a grant from the Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, Accessing Choice in Education (ACE) Demonstration Grant for Indian Children and Youth. This grant project titled, “Choices – Securing a Bright Future,” is a five (5) year grant which will provide direct services to students; Year 1 is a planning year. Students and families will be able to choose from different direct services opportunities in the areas of GRIC Culture and Language, Academic Support, Literacy, and Enrichment activities.
